Our Director
Elaine Rendler-McQueeney, D.M.A., is the founding director of the Georgetown Chorale. She received her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in organ performance from The Catholic University of America under the tutelage of Daniel Roth. She was an organ student of Alexander McCurdy and Conrad Bernier and studied conducting with Elaine Brown. Currently she is a professor of music theory at George
Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. She is widely known as a performer, composer, author, and lecturer in church music and liturgy.
She is also the editor of Today's Liturgy, a quarterly publication for liturgy preparation. Her publications include music: Keyboard Praise (Vols. 1 and 2) and books: In the Midst of the Assembly and This is the Day, for church musicians. She was recently honored by Georgetown University.s Center for Liturgy for her contribution to the liturgical life of the American church.
